Abstract

This article explores how to prepare students for emerging jobs through a theoretical literature review. It addresses two central questions: What transversal competencies—such as critical thinking, adaptability, and digital literacy—will be essential in the future? And what role do emerging technologies play in education? The methodology combines a systematic review of the literature with an analysis of information from the OECD, UNESCO, and the ILO, among others, using qualitative content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that investing in technological infrastructure and adopting active learning methodologies fosters the development of critical and adaptive skills. Moreover, best practices in countries like Finland and Singapore highlight the effectiveness of personalized and collaborative learning environments. The discussion emphasizes the need to reform curricula and public policy to integrate both technology and soft skills. The article concludes by recommending increased investment in educational technology and pedagogical innovation.
