Abstract

The construction sector in Cuba is in a moment of important transformation, in which the implementation of advanced technologies is becoming a necessity to improve efficiency, quality and safety in the execution of construction projects. In this context, the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology is presented as a key tool for the development and success of the industry. This research is aimed at solving a problem of a professional and technological nature, since it aims to know the current state that manifests the application of the BIM methodology in the construction business sector of the Holguín province. To resolve this problem, a diagnosis was carried out based on international reference indicators that made it possible to construct diagnostic SWOT matrices and reveal the level of implementation of the BIM methodology in the construction companies selected as a sample. The achievement of the proposed objective was possible thanks to the implementation of scientific research methods at a technical, empirical and mathematical-statistical level.
