Resumen

La alimentación es un elemento que influye directamente en la salud humana, afectando cualquier sistema corporal según la etapa de vida, la actividad física y el entorno donde se vive. Una dieta desequilibrada provoca deficiencias nutricionales, debilita el sistema inmunológico y fomenta enfermedades crónicas como diabetes, obesidad y cardiovasculares. Además, impacta la salud mental, asociándose a trastornos como ansiedad y depresión, actualmente vivimos una epidemia donde abunda la obesidad, la hipertensión y la diabetes. El consumo de alimentos saludables, como legumbres, semillas, pescado, frutas y vegetales, reducen factores de riesgo al aportar fibra, antioxidantes y ácidos grasos esenciales. Llevar patrones alimenticios como la dieta mediterránea, japonesa y nórdica promueven longevidad y bienestar en la población que la práctica. La combinación de alimentación equilibrada y ejercicio favorece la reversión de enfermedades crónicas, mejorando la calidad de vida y reduciendo el gasto sanitario, esto se le conoce como mejoras en el estilo de vida. Una educación y practica alimentaria adecuada es clave para prevenir enfermedades y fomentar hábitos saludables, maximizando el potencial físico, mental y emocional de las personas en cualquier etapa de su vida, por lo que la alimentación debe ser considerada pieza fundamental en la salud de la población.
