Abstract

This study examines the role of women in Coopnama del Noroeste between 2020 and 2025, focusing on their growing participation in cooperative spaces, the strengthening of female leadership, and the challenges that remain regarding gender equity. The research is justified by the need to highlight women’s contributions and assess the conditions that foster or hinder their development. A qualitative-descriptive design was used, based on documentary review, semi-structured interviews with female members and leaders, and comparative analysis of institutional data. This methodology allowed the identification of participation trends, leadership experiences, and obstacles faced by women in the region. Findings reveal a sustained increase in female membership and representation in leadership positions. Women-led community projects, particularly in education and family economy, showed positive impacts. Nevertheless, barriers such as gender stereotypes, work-family balance difficulties, and limited access to large-scale credit remain. The study confirms significant progress in female inclusion within Coopnama del Noroeste, although full equity still requires stronger internal policies, continuous training programs, and strategies to overcome the double burden of responsibilities. Female leadership is consolidating as a driver of social transformation but faces structural challenges that must be addressed to ensure sustainability.
