Abstract

The objective was to identify the level of Trait-State Anxiety in the relatives of patients hospitalized in a hospital in the State of Mexico. It was carried out in the waiting room, with the participation of 30 volunteers over 18 years of age, of indistinct sex, with some relationship to the hospitalized person, with the requirement of waiting for more than 12 hours. The Trait-State Anxiety Inventory (IDARE) was applied, with three levels of anxiety: low, medium and high. The type of study was cross-sectional, with a non-experimental design, anxiety levels are described and analyzed. In Anxiety-Trait the results obtained show that 36.7% of family members have a medium level and 63.3% have a high level. On the Anxiety-State scale (how do you feel right now), 70% of the relatives of hospitalized patients had a medium level of anxiety and 30% had a high level of anxiety. It is therefore concluded that the relatives of the patients who are hospitalized present anxiety at a level ranging from medium to high.
