Abstract

Adopting a circular economy can redefine a region's competitiveness by stimulating sustainable growth at the local level. We explore how the circular economy could strengthen urban and rural regions' competitiveness to address significant environmental, social, and economic challenges. We explore various tactics such as business symbiosis, collaborative consumption, waste utilization, and new business development. Emphasizes the importance of strong cooperation between different sectors and public policies to achieve the desired transformation. We analyze how strategies can be applied and adapted for use in cities and rural areas. We conclude that the circular economy, in addition to having an environmental impact, contributes to generating job opportunities and strengthens the economy.
