The objective of this research is to determine risk factors for developing plantar fasciitis. Additionally, to determine the incidence of plantar fasciitis in a steel company, to identify the types of footwear used, to analyze compliance with the NOM-113-STPS-2009 standard for Safety - Personal Protective Equipment - Protective Footwear - Classification, and to determine the relationship between the type of work footwear and plantar fasciitis. To this end, a cross-sectional, observational, prospective, descriptive study will be conducted among production workers in a steel company. A significant result was the relationship between the type of footwear used most frequently in the company and the presence of plantar pain or frank clinical signs of plantar fasciitis in 30%. This may indicate a need for a change in model that can adapt to the company's operational needs.
