Abstract
Most studies on entrepreneurial intention in higher education institutions were carried out with students. However, it is important to study the context of the teachers who train the students. Exposure to an entrepreneurial environment have a positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. Therefore, the objective of this work was to describe teacher´s involved in entrepreneurship socioeconomic profile at a Public University in the South of the State of Mexico. A quantitative study was carried out. Data were obtained from a questionnaire prepared with closed questions on a Likert scale. The questionnaire was applied online using the Google Docs tool. Questionnaire was answered by an intentional sample of 54 teachers. Data obtained were analyzed with the SPSS software. Statistical techniques of descriptive analysis and cross tables were applied. The results made it possible to identify that the profile of the teacher involved in entrepreneurial activities was determined by relevant relationships between family background, professional training, experience, and training in entrepreneurship. To continue this line of research, it is recommended to expand, to provide more solid results that can contribute to strengthening the academic programs in the different areas of knowledge.
