Abstract

Management skills in logistics students are necessary competencies for effective leadership in organizations, where the goal is to maximize the added value of either the product or service, with the objective of surprising the customer. These skills can be developed and improved through training programs and effective leadership practices to positively impact organizational performance and effectiveness. There are several theories and models that incorporate managerial skills, this research focuses on determining the level that students enrolled in the logistics degree at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, Unidad Académica Profesional Cuautitlán Izcalli, have during the January-July 2024 semester; in four of them: leadership, effective communication, decision making and teamwork. The methodology used is descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional, the instrument to be applied is a likert-type questionnaire to a non-probabilistic sample of 60 students who are enrolled and present at the time of the survey of the instrument. The objective is to evaluate the managerial skills of students in logistics so that they can know and identify their strengths and areas of opportunity to develop strategies to improve these competencies before entering the labor market or starting a business. The results also provide valuable information for the University and the coordination of the bachelor's degree to generate cross-cutting strategies in the academic program.
