Abstract

Currently, supply chain management represents a process of extreme importance for any organization, given the direct influence it has on determining the competitiveness of a company. To achieve this, one of the ways that marketing companies have is by implementing integrated supply chain management through strategic management. This allows you to convert your logistics processes into offers of logistics services, with possibilities of expanding the latter in relation to a marketing company. The latter are generally categorized as a 1PL or 2PL logistics operator, and can become a 3PL or 4PL logistics operator. These changes require modifications in the infrastructure and in aspects related to the management of the logistics processes that it executed as a marketing company, which would be modified to logistics services offered by a logistics operator. To achieve this, the research develops a procedure for the transition from a marketing company to a logistics operator. The procedure combines different tools and methods, which raise the scientific level of the decisions made. The main result is the actions that must be carried out in the short, medium and long term, both by the company in transition and by the different actors in the supply chains. These actions allow the marketing company to transform into a higher-level logistics operator.
