Abstract

The main theme of this research is to analyze and determine the effects of corruption in various sectors of the economy in Colombia. To achieve this, a documentary investigation was conducted and a survey was applied to gain a thorough understanding of the subject of study. Thus, it was concluded that corruption is a global phenomenon, which has been present in Colombia for a long time. It does not only manifest in a specific sector but is observed across several sectors of the Colombian economy, though with greater intensity in some cases. Furthermore, it was evidenced that the institutions responsible for countering this phenomenon are not effective when it comes to carrying out their duties.
