Abstract
The Cuban business sector directs its efforts to improving the quality of work. The energy sector is among the strategic sectors of the country, where actions are carried out to improve all its processes. The Maintenance of Power Plants Company (EMCE) of Felton in the Mayarí Municipality, Holguín province, is no exception. This entity, in the first quarter of 2025, presented deficiencies related to its maintenance process, which is why this research was developed with the general objective of: improving the maintenance process in the Maintenance of Power Plants Company UEB Felton. It was determined that the main causes that affected the detected problem were the insufficient means of personal and work protection, the limitations in the acquisition of raw materials through foreign companies, the instability in the supply of raw materials in the Metal Structure Workshop, the obsolete work equipment in the Machining Workshop, the non-compliance with the Cuban standard referring to the acceptable quality level (NCA) for lot-by-lot inspection, the lack of effective leadership, and exposure to a highly risky area. To comply with said objective, the general problem-solving method was partially applied, as well as tools and techniques inherent to it. The main recommendations to the Entity's Management are the implementation of the presented measures and the control of the impact of the same in the UEB.
