Abstract

It is estimated that musculoskeletal disorders represent the most frequent pathology in workers and are the cause of the greatest number of days not worked due to disability. Objective: Determine the ergonomic factors of musculoskeletal disorders, providing proposals for improvement for their prevention in workers in the metal-mechanical industry with medical attention at the IMSS. Method: quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental and transversal study. It is proposed to reinforce measures that mitigate or minimize musculoskeletal damage derived from the technical process. A review of the clinical records of patients identified with TME, days of disability, results of imaging tests and clinical evaluation, carried out by a specialist and based on this, the implementation of participatory ergonomics is proposed, which is an intervention strategy on the risks due to physical load in the workplace recently introduced in Mexico, although other countries have numerous experiences and evidence in this field. From the point of view of public and occupational health, participatory ergonomics is a well-tested model of empowerment of the population to control the determinants of the (work) environment that affect their health and well-being.
