Abstract

This research aims to analyze the logistical barriers faced by micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the municipality of Lerma when delivering products outside their premises. Using a quantitative approach, data obtained from surveys conducted with 599 local businesses were analyzed. The results reveal that, while 83.5% of MSEs have immediate product availability, only 43.4% acknowledge that shipping to other locations has generated more customers, and only 39.2% have increased their revenue as a result. This highlights a gap between production capacity and distribution logistics, which impedes these companies' commercial expansion beyond the local market. The limitations detected may be due to a lack of logistical infrastructure, lack of familiarity with technological tools for shipping, and poor integration with e-commerce platforms. Despite having products ready for delivery, many companies fail to transform this advantage into economic growth due to a lack of efficient distribution strategies. The proposed alternative solutions include promoting business training in logistics, fostering collaborative distribution networks among local businesses, and integrating digital technologies to facilitate shipments. This research aims to serve as the starting point for a training program to strengthen the logistics of MSEs in urban and semi-urban settings.
