Production linkages as a development strategy for MSMEs in Cuba

The main objective of this research is to comprehensively analyze the potential of productive chains as a development strategy for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Cuba, within the framework of their current economic transition. Using theoretical methods (historical-logical, hypothetical-deductive, and analysis-synthesis) and empirical methods (direct observation and document analysis), significant opportunities are identified in key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing. Collaboration between MSMEs and larger companies, including state-owned enterprises, can generate mutual benefits and stimulate the economy. It is also demonstrated that there are barriers that hinder the formation and functioning of these chains, such as regulatory complexity, infrastructure limitations, financial restrictions, and the impact of the U.S. embargo.
