Social intervention projects in the Pedro Días Coello community, Holguin Cuba

The present investigation approaches a subject of great importance for the community work: social intervention projects from its development and incidence. The research is based on the previous study carried out on the functioning of the social intervention projects and social strategies in function of the attention to the Pedro Díaz Coello community in the city of Holguín, which is located to the west of the city, where 5 community projects are carried out by social workers, university professors, Municipal Direction of Public Health and Political and Mass Organizations of the province. Two of them are directed by the attention to the family, two work on artistic development in the community and one project analyzes the behavior of aging related to the prioritized attention to the aging population of the community. The objective of the work is to characterize the different social projects that affect this community and their impact, which are fundamentally directed towards the transformation of reality, oriented to the solution of concrete problems, to the improvement of the quality of life. In order to carry out the research, we have used different empirical and theoretical methods, deepening in social and community management. The novelty of the research lies in the reflexive assessment, generating proposals in order to involve social actors and political and mass organizations in the decision making and solutions to the treatment of this social problem.
