Legal compliance as a factor in the competitiveness of companies in Mexico

Abstract
It is very recent that collective organizations other than natural persons are able to be declared liable in criminal matters for the acts that their employees or directors carry out. This criminal liability attributed to them in the criminal legislation of the world refers to serious crimes or crimes of social significance in which it is shown that the company has not exercised due control over its employees. This criminal liability attributed to the lack of due control of the company and its employees causes the need for companies to implement innovative programs called: legal compliance, criminal legal compliance or regulatory compliance programs. Having one of these programs will be crucial in the responsibility or degree of responsibility of the company and, therefore, in the harsh sanctions they may have, which range from economic fines to the legal nonexistence of the company. This research will focus on the importance of having a legal compliance program and the effects on the company's competitiveness.
