Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an indispensable technology that significantly impacts the processes involved in the creation of computer programs, particularly within educational and training contexts. Its incorporation into programming instruction has transformed the way students approach problem solving, understand computational logic, and make decisions during software development. In this regard, the present study aims to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence as a support tool in the creation of computer programs, considering its influence on efficiency, comprehension, and student autonomy. The study adopts a quantitative, descriptive–correlational approach through the application of a Likert-type instrument to students with basic training in programming. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation coefficients, which made it possible to identify significant relationships between the use of AI and different dimensions of the teaching–learning process in programming. The results indicate that AI is perceived as a resource that enhances comprehension and efficiency in the creation of computer programs; however, it also poses challenges related to technological dependence and learner autonomy. The article is structured into five sections: an introduction that contextualizes the phenomenon, a theoretical framework addressing programming and AI, the methodology employed, the presentation of results, and a discussion with conclusions. Among the main conclusions, it is highlighted that Artificial Intelligence represents a unique opportunity in the training of software programming professionals, provided that its integration is carried out in a responsible and ethical manner.
